Install Windows 10 Technical Preview Now(Precautions and Procedure)

If you want to install Windows 10 on your own PC, then you will be happy to hear that it is actually relatively straight forward with little or no hassle. In this post, I describe how to do so.
Important: I would only recommend installing Windows 10 on a spare machine or in a virtual environment. I would not recommend installing the operating system on your main machine. Also, if you don’t know what you’re doing, then I would highly recommend you backing up your data before messing around.
  • Join the Windows Insider program and download the Windows 10 ISO image.
  • If you are installing on a PC, then you should burn the ISO image to an optical disk or create a bootable USB flash drive. I would recommend latter, you can find instruction on how to do online. However, if you’re installing in a virtual environment, then just attach the ISO image.
  • Follow most of the on-screen instructions by selecting next.
  • You will need to choose an installation location for Windows 10 to install at. You might need to delete or create a partition, but if you are using a virtual machine, you can just click next.
Keep in mind, like with all testing versions of software, this is not for everyone. Windows 10 is going to be buggy, and it is mostly designed for computer enthusiasts, developers and business users. Just as I’ve said above, Microsoft recommends installing the update on a secondary machine.
Finally, Microsoft also notes that some of the touch-friendly features are no available in the preview in this build, so those of you with such devices may want to hold off, though it does encourage feedback from those brave enough to download the software early..
